November - The Month of Nature Bathing

November is a restbite month - it is simply here to give us a chance to reconnect. Forget the stresses that come hand in hand with appreciating the poor health of our planet, lie back and enjoy all the tiny, beautiful gems that are gifts from nature constantly present if we look out for them. We do not mean naked moments! We simply mean, enjoy the natural beauty all around us that is there to be found. A friend recently said to me that society often talks of triggers  - experiences, words, that result in us feeling a painful pang, some memory of a trauma, a horrid event, guilt - but the antipathy of this is glimmers. Glimmers are those excellent moments that give us that whoosh of butterflies in our bellies - that explosion of warmth. These are the moments to look out for through November: a giggle from the baby, a bird coming so close you could look it in the eye, an interaction of kindness, a leftover flower in the autumnal winds... whatever it is, throughout November it is our aim to witness it, feel the glimmer, love Mother Nature.

About Us

I am a research scientist with a passion for the environment. My day job is working on the prevention of transmissible disease but right now I am on maternity leave so it is the perfect time to try some new habits. My partner is a recycling officer dealing with all our reusable waste and our baby arrived in 2022.
